Description
Kibble Palace is a stunning Victorian greenhouse in Glasgow's Botanic Gardens, designed in the 1860s by John Kibble.
This place impresses not only with its impressive wrought iron and glass architecture, but also with its extraordinary collection of tropical plants. Especially noteworthy are the tree ferns from New Zealand and Australia, some of which have been growing here for 120 years!
In 2004, the palace underwent a £7 million renovation that restored it to its former glory. In addition to the plants, marble sculptures can be admired here, including a statue of 'King Robert of Sicily' added in the 1920s.
