Katedra w Moguncji

Mainz Cathedral is one of the seven imperial churches, stunning in its Romanesque architecture and rich history dating back to the early Middle Ages.

The interior of the cathedral impresses with its elaborate stone carvings, archbishops' tombs and perfectly preserved Romanesque elements such as stalls and pulpit.

This place has witnessed the coronation of emperors and the burial of notable figures, including Fastrada, Charlemagne's fourth wife. Walking through the cathedral, one can admire the basilica's unique double-arch structure with transepts connected by a series of arches and columns.
