Description
Bangor Cathedral is the second oldest cathedral in Britain and the oldest in Wales, founded in 525 by Saint Deiniol.
This unique monument combines Romanesque and Gothic styles, and its interior conceals extraordinary treasures, including a 15th century sculpture of the Rumpled Christ and five of Robert Thompson's famous wooden mice.
The cathedral also features a biblical garden with every plant mentioned in Scripture. The site has witnessed a tumultuous history, surviving Viking invasions and numerous reconstructions, making it a fascinating spot for history and architecture enthusiasts.
