Description
St. Bartholomew's Cathedral in Pilsen is an impressive Gothic basilica that dates back to 1295. Its 102.26-meter-high tower was the tallest building in the Czech Republic until 1981!
The interior impresses with a pseudo-Gothic main altar designed by Josef Mocker and a priceless 14th-century statue of the Madonna of Pilsen - one of the most valuable works of Gothic art in the region.
The combination of Gothic and Renaissance elements creates a unique architectural composition that attracts history and art lovers from all over the world.
