Description
Ft. George Ruins is a small 18th-century fortification built from local coral limestone, which defended Grand Cayman from Spanish raids and later served as an observation point during World War II.
Today, you can see three restored walls, replica cannons, murals depicting historical battles, and a commemorative observation tower. It is one of only three remaining heritage sites from the 1700s in downtown George Town, saved in 1972 by residents who blocked the developer's machines.
