Description
The Father Bernatek Footbridge is a unique pedestrian bridge connecting the Kazimierz and Podgórze districts of Krakow. The 130-meter-long leaf-shaped structure impresses with LED illumination and balancing sculptures by Jerzy Kedziora, creating an open-air art gallery.
The bridge is famous for its tradition of hanging padlocks with lovers' names on the railings, making it a romantic meeting place. The footbridge offers picturesque views of the Vistula River and the city skyline, perfect for sunset photography.
Built in 2010 on the site of a former road bridge, it commemorates Father Laetus Bernatek, founder of the Hospital of the Brothers of St. John of God in Krakow.
