Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz Botanical Garden

Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz Botanical Garden is a remarkable oasis of botanical diversity in the heart of the university campus.

The garden impresses with its collection of some 8,500 plant species from almost all regions of the world. Particularly impressive is the greenhouse complex with plants of Mediterranean, tropical and subtropical climates.

It is worth noting one of the largest research collections of plants of the genus Salvia (sage) in Europe and a thematic collection of plants of the Orient. The garden actively participates in the protection of rare species of flora of Rhineland-Palatinate.
