Description
The Cave Ciemna is a fascinating site in Ojców National Park, which is one of the most important archaeological sites in Poland. Inhabited by Neanderthals 50-60,000 years ago, it hides the oldest traces of humans on Polish soil - the bones of a child's hand from 115,000 years ago.
A guided tour through the largest chamber of the Krakow-Czestochowa Upland (80 meters long, 20 meters wide and 10 meters high) is an unforgettable adventure. Visitors are given candles to light the way, which adds to the mystery of the trip.
The cave is home to 600 bats and the temperature inside is maintained at 7.5°C.
