avatarZach Dillsa year agoThis is one of my favorite views in Buckinghamshire. Lots of car parks around or if you have the time park by Tring Station and walk the trail to Ivinghoe Beacon in a few hours with great views the whole way. Also you are right next to Ashridge so check out the bluebells in April and May. Great spot.
avatarjibin jayana year agoIvinghoe Beacon is a hill in Buckinghamshire, England, 233 meters (757 feet) above sea level. It is a popular spot for walkers and sightseers, and is the starting point of the Icknield Way to the east, and the Ridgeway long-distance path to the west. The Beacon is owned and managed by the National Trust. It is a chalk hill with a clay and flint plateau. The escarpment is very steeply sloping land. Ivinghoe Beacon has been featured in a number of films, including Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, Batman Begins, and The Dirty Dozen. It is also mentioned in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. The hill is a beautiful and historic place that is worth a visit. If you are ever in the Chiltern Hills, be sure to stop by and take in the views. Here are some of the things that make Ivinghoe Beacon special: Stunning views: From the top of the Beacon, you can see for miles in all directions. On a clear day, you can even see London. Historical significance: The Beacon has been a landmark for centuries. It was once used as a signal fire to warn of danger. Natural beauty: The Beacon is surrounded by rolling hills and forests. It is a great place to enjoy the outdoors. Family-friendly: There are plenty of activities for families at Ivinghoe Beacon, such as hiking, biking, and picnicking. If you are looking for a place to enjoy the beauty of nature and learn about history, Ivinghoe Beacon is a great place to visit.
avatarLuke Hughes5 years agoA great area for hiking (and from what I see online, a trail running favourite also). Views from the top are really nice. The walks aren't too difficult so suitable for families and pushchairs and the surrounding areas offer a nice collection of open areas, wildlife, woods, hills andd great trails for hikers/runners and MTBs. Will be coming back.
