Description
Torre dello Ziro is a medieval watchtower dating back to 1480, built by the Duke of Amalfi to defend against pirates.
Its walls offer breathtaking panoramic views of the Amalfi Coast and the Gulf of Salerno.
The place is shrouded in a tragic legend about Princess Giovanna d'Aragona, who was imprisoned and murdered here because of a scandalous affair. This story, described by many writers, adds a mysterious charm to the tower.
