Description
The Church of St. Rufinus in Assisi is a gem of Romanesque architecture dating back to the 12th century that impresses with its unique facade with three rosettes and rich carvings.
It is a place of great historical significance - St. Francis and St. Clare were baptized in this church, and Francis himself preached his first sermon here.
The interior of the church hides numerous treasures of sacred art, including a Baroque chapel of the Blessed Sacrament with frescoes, wooden crucifixes from the 19th century and a baptismal font of special significance to Christian history.
