Isola Bella

Isola Bella is a fabulous island in Lake Maggiore, a true jewel of northern Italy. This former rocky islet was transformed in the 17th century by the Borromeo family into a summer palace residence with breathtaking gardens.

The Borromeo Palace impresses with its Baroque architecture, richly decorated halls and works of art. The real treasure, however, are the gardens spread over 10 terraces, with an impressive amphitheater, fountains and exotic plants brought from faraway travels.
