Description
Rock of Cashel is an impressive complex of medieval buildings situated on a limestone hill in Ireland's Golden Valley.
Also called 'St. Patrick's Rock,' it was once the seat of the kings of Munster, and according to legend, it was here that St. Patrick baptized King Aengus in 432.
The stunning mix of architectural styles includes a round tower, a Romanesque chapel with unique frescoes, a Gothic cathedral and an abbey. Every stone of the site tells a fascinating story of Irish cultural and spiritual heritage.
