Description
Tramore Beach is a 5-kilometer sandy beach in Waterford County that boasts golden sand and spectacular views of the bay.
It is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts - since 1967 the place has been the center of surfing in Ireland, offering excellent conditions for both beginners and experienced surfers.
The historic symbol of the beach is Metal Man, a lighthouse erected after the tragic sinking of HMS Seahorse in 1816. The surrounding 30-foot dunes and cliffs create a unique landscape, and the lagoon estuary attracts anglers hunting for specimens of flounder and sea bass.
