Description
Adźanta is a fascinating rock cave complex in the Indian state of Maharashtra, and is one of the most important monuments of Buddhist art and architecture.
The temples and monasteries carved into the rock date from the 2nd century BC to the 5th century AD and are awe-inspiring for their wealth of wall paintings and sculptures.
It's a place where history comes alive through extraordinary works of art, depicting scenes from Buddha's life and stories of his previous incarnations. Each cave is a separate story, enchanted in stone and colors, that transports visitors to distant times.
