Description
Iffley Meadows is a picturesque nature reserve located just 2.5 kilometers from the center of Oxford, on the banks of the River Thames.
This unique place is famous for its thousands of emperor's lace (snake's head fritillaries), which cover the meadows with a purple carpet of flowers in spring. On the 33 hectares of wet meadows you will observe a variety of birds, butterflies and other animals.
An ideal walking destination for nature lovers, photographers and anyone looking for a moment of peace away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Well-marked paths allow you to comfortably explore this charming corner of nature.
