Description
Hohes Schloss is a medieval castle in Füssen that impresses with its majestic Gothic architecture and rich history.
Built as the summer residence of the bishops of Augsburg, today it houses the Bavarian State Gallery and the Municipal Painting Gallery, showcasing magnificent works of late Gothic art and Renaissance art from the Allgäu region.
The tower, more than 47 meters high, offers a panoramic view of the picturesque surroundings. The richly decorated frescoes, illusionist paintings and stained glass windows create a true feast for the eyes and are a testament to the artistic heritage of the region.
