Description

Alcazaba is an impressive Moorish fortress dating back to the 11th century, and is one of the best preserved structures of its kind in Spain.

This architectural gem combines Roman, Arab and Renaissance influences, delighting visitors with three courtyards, palaces and defensive towers. The Maldonado Tower offers breathtaking views of Malaga and the Mediterranean Sea.

History buffs will appreciate the elaborate arches, delicate windows and ornate ornaments reflecting the influence of Islamic art. The Alcazaba is part of a larger historical complex, neighboring the Roman Theater from the 1st century AD.
