Description
The Museu Parroquial de Bocairent is a small but unique museum of religious art, considered one of the best in the Valencian Community.
It has an impressive collection of religious works from the 14th to the 20th century, including works by masters such as Joan de Joanes and Joaquín Sorolla. Particularly noteworthy are the gold and silver liturgical objects, including a 16th-century chalice used by Saint Juan de Ribera, attributed to the Florentine sculptor Benvenuto Cellini.
The museum is located next to the main parish church, built on the remains of the former Arab castle of Bekiren, which adds an extra historical dimension to the place.
