Description
The Ecomuseum of Guinea offers a fascinating journey back in time to the world of the indigenous inhabitants of El Hierro. Restored lava stone and thatched houses contain traditional furniture and tools, and beneath them lies a hidden volcanic tunnel with family chambers. The biggest attraction is the sanctuary of the endangered giant lizard, a species endemic to the Canary Islands. Located at the foot of the dramatic Risco de Tibataje cliff, the museum combines history, geology, and nature conservation in one unique place.
