Description
Allegories of Winter and Summer are a pair of impressive sculptures in the center of Malaga, depicting contrasting personifications of the seasons. The sculpture of Winter shows a bearded man wrapped in a hood, protecting himself from the cold, while Summer exudes warmth and lightness.
The works are inspired by 18th-century allegorical traditions, referring to the works of Jean Antoine Houdon from 1783. Their location next to the Roman theater creates a fascinating dialogue between different artistic eras.
