Description
Cahir Castle is one of the largest and best-preserved castles in Ireland, built in the 13th century on an island in the River Suir.
This imposing Norman structure is stunning in its architecture with a barbican, inner and outer courtyards and numerous towers. Despite sieges and conquests, the castle remains in excellent condition.
During the tour, you can learn about the fascinating history through an audio-visual show, and discover where famous films like 'Excalibur' and 'The Tudors' were filmed. The spiral staircase and dark dungeons will provide an unforgettable experience for adults and children alike.
