Description
Pendennis Castle is one of England's best-preserved coastal fortresses, built by Henry VIII between 1539 and 1545. The imposing structure was the last Royalist bastion during the English Civil War, withstanding a five-month siege in 1646.
Visitors can explore underground tunnels, a World War II-era battery and the original Tudor tower with a recreated artillery platform. Interactive exhibits showcasing life in the castle through the ages await in the discovery center.
During the summer season, the Southern Cannon is fired daily, and the walls offer breathtaking panoramic views of Falmouth and Carrick Roads Bay.
