Description
Colomares Castle is a unique monument built between 1987 and 1994 as a tribute to Christopher Columbus and the discovery of America. It is not a traditional castle, but a fascinating mix of architectural styles: neo-Romanesque, neo-Byzantine, neo-Gothic and mudejar.
The building impresses with intriguing details - horse heads, shields, images of saints and angels, and representations of Columbus' three ships: the Niña, Pinta and Santa María. Surrounded by lush gardens, it offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and surrounding mountains.
It's the perfect place for history and architecture lovers alike.
