Wymering Manor is the oldest building in Portsmouth, dating back to 1042. Once owned by King Edward the Confessor and later William the Conqueror.
This 16th-century property hides fascinating elements - from Roman and medieval materials to Saxon cellars and a distinctive Jacobean staircase with twisted sugar balustrades.

Lesley Hedgera week agoInteresting place although some rooms were shut owing to subsidence and death watch beetle apparently. Old building. Lots of steps so not suitable for mobility impaired

Susan Courtright5 years agoOhhhh I do love haunted houses! This is one of the most haunted in all England. Such a fun, interesting evening. Most of the guests are returns, so you know it's a legitimate quest and no table knocking. Our hosts are amazing. A must-do if you're in Portsmouth.Related categories
