Description
Ulysses S. Grant Monument is an impressive historical monument in Chicago's Lincoln Park. This majestic bronze sculpture, standing on an 18-foot pedestal, depicts General Grant on horseback.
The monument, unveiled in 1891, attracted more than 250,000 people, including Grant's widow, to the ceremony. The work, by Louis T. Rebisso, rests on a massive Romanesque rusticated stone base, designed by William Le Baron Jenney.
It is perfect for lovers of American history, especially those interested in the Civil War and the figure of Ulysses S. Grant.
