Description
Turkish House is a unique historical monument in Rijeka, being the only Neo-Moorish style building in all of Croatia.
The colorful facade decorated with 96 inscriptions in Arabic, windows with oriental arches, and floral and geometric ornaments create a unique blend of historical styles, Art Nouveau and oriental influences.
Built in 1879, with an additional floor added in 1906, it is a testament to the city's multicultural heritage. Inscriptions derived from the Quran convey universal messages such as 'Truth is our salvation' and 'Rely on God'.
