Description
The Brühl Terrace is a historic architectural ensemble in Dresden, known as the 'Balcony of Europe.' This 500-meter-long terrace along the Elbe River offers breathtaking views of the city skyline.
Originally part of a 16th century fortification, it was transformed into a luxurious garden by Count Heinrich von Brühl in the 18th century. The site is decorated with numerous statues, including a group of 'Four Seasons' symbolizing the four seasons.
Walking along the terrace, one can admire unique buildings such as the Albertinum with its modern art collections and the Royal Academy of Arts with its impressive glass dome and gilded statue of Nike.
