Description
Stadthausturm, Münster is a fascinating Neo-Renaissance tower designed by Alfred Hensen and built between 1902 and 1907.
It miraculously survived the 1944 Allied bombing, when the original city hall was destroyed. In 2001, an automatic bell system was installed that sounds three times a day at 11:00 am, 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm, playing different melodies depending on the season.
Previously, the site was home to a pharmacy and 16th-century warehouses. The tower offers a beautiful view of the historic center of the city.
