Description
St Mary's Guildhall is a fascinating monument of medieval architecture that dates back to 1340. This historic building witnessed royal visits, including those of Henry V and Mary, Queen of Scots during her imprisonment in 1569.
The Guildhall impresses with one of the country's most important medieval textiles, the Coventry Tapisserie, created between 1505 and 1515. After a recent £6 million renovation, you can also admire the reconstructed medieval kitchens, which give an idea of the scale of hospitality offered by the guild.

Becky T4 months agoWonderful visit, where learnt a lot about the guildhall's 700 year history and evolution between being the guild, government, Royal connections, soup kitchen, to World War II impacts. There is also historical artwork, architecture, and hands on kids activity to help them remain engaged.
The signs are excellent throughout, with an additional option to use their included tablet guide. Volunteers are also very kind and informative. We spent about an hour in the ten rooms.
Toilets near the front are also quite nice and clean.
Joanne Dyer7 months agoBooked the Mulled wine and tour experience. At £7 each, it was worth every penny. Our guide Finn was knowledgeable and very entertaining, keeping the whole group engaged throughout the tour.
The building is stunning and the history of Coventry and the people of the city are steeped in every room, wall and tapestry.
Our next visit will include food too as the cafe looked great.
