Description
Palazzo dei Celestini (Provincia di Lecce) is an impressive Baroque palace that is a true architectural gem in the heart of Lecce.
Originally built as a monastery for the Celestine Order in 1549, today it serves as the seat of the Province of Lecce. The building impresses with its rich facade designed by Giuseppe Zimbalo and Giuseppe Cino between 1659 and 1695, adorned with intricate decorations, lancet window finials and cornice friezes.
It forms a common complex with the Basilica of Santa Croce, and is an excellent example of the region's Baroque heritage.
