Description
Palazzo Dario is a fascinating monument of Venetian architecture, combining Gothic and Renaissance styles. Built for diplomat Giovanni Dario in the 15th century, this asymmetrical palace is famous for its rich ornamentation, exotic stones and intriguing history.
An aura of mystery and legend surrounds the palace - according to local legends, it is cursed and its owners have met with misfortune. Claude Monet immortalized this architectural gem in his Impressionist works.
Although it is not open to the public, its beautiful facade with colorful marble details and circular windows delights all who pass through the Canale Grande.
