Description
The Prince-Bishop's Palace is one of the largest Gothic civil buildings in the world, located in the heart of Liège, Belgium.
This impressive building combines Gothic and Renaissance elements, and its facade, rebuilt in the classical style after a fire in 1734, impresses with intricate stonework detailing and elegant windows.
The inner courtyard is surrounded by four galleries with Gothic vaulted ceilings supported by 60 unique, richly decorated columns depicting fantastic human figures and grotesque masks - reflecting Renaissance humanism and the discovery of the New World.
