Description
The Kretzulescu Palace is a magnificent architectural monument in the heart of Bucharest. Built between 1902 and 1906 for Elena Kretzulescu, it combines an eclectic style with elements of the French Renaissance, which was fashionable in Bucharest at the time.
The impressive facade, richly decorated reception halls, marble staircases and ornate chandeliers delight any architecture lover. The palace has served various functions, from the seat of the prime minister to the Museum of Religious Art, and since 1972 it has housed the UNESCO European Center for Higher Education.
The back of the building offers a picturesque view of Cișmigiu Park, which adds to the place's charm.
