Description

Nympsfield Long Barrow is a fascinating Neolithic barrow dating back to around 2800 BC, offering a remarkable journey through time.

This 30-meter-long prehistoric tomb hides the remains of at least thirteen human skeletons, including a child buried in a stone box.

Local legends surround the site, including a story that it served as a refuge for lepers. The east-facing entrance offers a spectacular view of the Severn Valley.

With a little imagination, strolling through this ancient monument, you can feel the spirit of Neolithic builders 5,000 years ago.
