Description
Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence is a unique open-air sculpture gallery where history and art come together in an unusual way.
Built between 1376 and 1382, it combines elements of Gothic and Renaissance, displaying masterpieces such as Cellini's 'Perseus with the Head of Medusa' and Giambologna's 'Kidnapping of the Sabines'.
This place, which was originally used for public ceremonies, was transformed by the Medici family into a symbol of their power and artistic patronage. A perfect place to make a short stop while visiting the center of Florence - and it's completely free!"
