Description
Karakuş Tumulus is a fascinating archaeological monument located in Turkey, Adıyaman Province. This ancient tomb, built in the 1st century BC, is part of the region's rich cultural heritage.
The monumental barrow was erected as a resting place for members of the Kommagene royal family. A distinctive feature is the preserved columns topped with sculptures of the eagle that gave the entire complex its name (Karakuş means 'black bird').
The historic site offers a picturesque view of the surrounding mountains and the Euphrates River valley.
