Description
Drottningholm is a beautiful royal palace in Sweden, known as the 'Swedish Versailles'. This 18th century monument impresses with its Baroque architecture, magnificent interiors and rich history dating back to the 16th century.
The complex includes a unique palace theater dating back to 1766 - one of the best preserved 18th century theaters in Europe, with original stage machinery.
Visitors can also enjoy the French Baroque gardens with bronze sculptures and the Chinese Pavilion - an unusual gift to King Gustav III from 1769. There are special attractions for families, such as a lion safari and gold prospecting.
