Description
Strečno Castle is a medieval gem located on a 103-meter limestone cliff above the Váh River in northern Slovakia.
This reconstructed ruin impresses with its irregular plan, dominant watchtower and rich history dating back to 1316. Visitors can enjoy a chapel with a portrait of Žofia Bosniakova and archaeological exhibits.
The castle offers breathtaking views of Mala Fatra and the Strečiansky Pass. Also nearby is the medieval village of Paseka with five wooden houses where you can experience old life.
