Description
The Old Wardour Castle is a fascinating ruin of a 14th-century fortress with a unique hexagonal shape inspired by French castles.
Built in 1392 by John, 5th Baron Lovell, the castle was destroyed during the English Civil War in the 1740s.
Its unique architecture with self-contained guest suites was rare at the time. The picturesque park, lake and surrounding forest create a romantic atmosphere, ideal for exploring history and admiring medieval architecture.
