Description
The Knin Castle is one of the oldest and largest fortresses in Europe, dating back to the 9th century. This impressive fortification, divided into five distinct parts, was once a strategic military point and political center for Croatian rulers.
The castle walls offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, including Mount Dinara and the Krka River.
Inside the fortress is a museum and exhibition galleries displaying ethnographic artifacts, archaeological relics and geological specimens. History buffs will find the memorial hall dedicated to prominent figures associated with Knin particularly interesting.
