Description
Habsburg Castle is a fascinating historical site, the cradle of one of Europe's most powerful dynasties. Built around 1020 by Count Radbot, according to legend it was named after a hawk (German: Habicht) that sat on its walls.
The towers and 13th-century residential building, which have survived to this day, allow one to be transported back to medieval times. A permanent exhibition presents the history of the Habsburgs, and an educational path with audio points 'Royal Route' makes visiting an adventure for the whole family.
You can even enjoy medieval food in the castle's restaurant, and the surrounding picnic grounds invite you to relax in a historic setting.
