Description
Wrest Park is a unique historical monument with a fascinating history dating back to the 13th century. The property includes a historic palace with the earliest Rococo-style interiors in England, and 90-acre gardens combining French, Italian and English styles.
The gardens, originally designed by George London and Henry Wise and later modified by the famous 'Capability' Brown, hide more than 40 statues, including a statue of Brown himself and a bronze sundial from 1682.
There's a playground with a pavilion and tyrolean for the little ones, and history buffs will appreciate the free guided tours of the gardens.
