World Heritage Site Verla Groundwood and Board Mill is a unique industrial monument listed by UNESCO. This well-preserved 19th century complex showcases the fascinating history of paper and board production in northern Europe.

Visitors can admire some 50 original buildings, including the mill, dryer, warehouses and the homes of the employees and owner. A special attraction is the machinery, preserved in its original condition, and the prehistoric rock paintings near the Verlankoski waterfall, dating back to 7000 BC.

Verla's forest path offers hiking in a picturesque setting, making the site ideal for history and nature lovers.
