Twierdza Przemyśl - Fort I Salis-Soglio

The Przemyśl Fortress - Fort I Salis-Soglio is one of the best preserved forts of the outer ring of the famous fortress.

This unique example of an artillery fort, built between 1882 and 1886, impresses with its pentagonal shape and original defensive architecture.

Despite being blown up in 1915 during the second siege, you can still admire the brick gate, barracks, casemates and artillery positions. The fort is a fascinating history lesson and an excellent point on a tour of WWI fortifications.
