Description
St. Peter's Seminary is an exceptional example of modernist and brutalist architecture, designed by the firm of Gillespie, Kidd & Coia. This impressive building is one of only 42 post-war Scottish buildings with the highest conservation status.
The seminary's austere concrete form contrasts dramatically with the surrounding forested landscape, creating a fascinating combination of art and nature. The complex encompasses a variety of structures, including the main block, the monastery block and the sanctuary block.
The building is currently undergoing renovation to become a platform for public art and knowledge exchange.
