Skansen Kronan

Skansen Kronan is an impressive 17th century fortification built on Skansberget Hill in Gothenburg.

This octagonal structure with walls 7 meters thick was built between 1687 and 1698 as part of the city's defense system. A distinctive feature of the fort is the wooden crown on top, originally made of gilded wood in 1699.

The observation deck offers a breathtaking panorama of Gothenburg. A cozy café operates here in the summer, and the fort is also a popular venue for private celebrations.
