Description

The Memorial to Soviet Soldiers in Berlin is an impressive historical monument located in the Großer Tiergarten park, just 200 meters from the Brandenburg Gate.

Erected in 1945, probably from marble from the New Reich Chancellery, it commemorates the fallen Soviet soldiers during the Battle of Berlin.

The distinctive colonnade with a central figure of a Red Army soldier, complete with two 152mm howitzers and T-34 tanks, is a unique testimony to the city's turbulent history. For history buffs, it is a place to reflect on Berlin's complicated past.
