Description
The Diocletian's Palace in Split is one of the best preserved monuments of Roman architecture in the world.
The palace is surrounded by massive walls 2 meters thick and up to 26 meters high. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
Inside, visitors can admire the Peristyle (central square), the Cathedral of St. Dujam (former mausoleum of the emperor), the Temple of Jupiter and the well-preserved underground, which served as a film set for the 'Game of Thrones' series.
