Description
Olimpia is a unique archaeological site, the cradle of the ancient Olympic Games and one of the most important sanctuaries in ancient Greece.
This UNESCO World Heritage gem impresses with the remains of temples, including the famous Temple of Zeus, which once housed one of the seven wonders of the world.
In the original stadium, which could hold 40,000 spectators, ancient starting blocks are still visible today. Phidias' workshop provides a glimpse into the secrets of ancient craftsmanship, and the tradition of lighting the Olympic flame has survived to our time.
